Painted Jet.

A bit of a look behind the scenes.

Before I decided to go with a polished aluminum finish in the final Silver Jet render, I experimented with some worn paint textures. I like the look of old warbirds with chipped paint on leading edges and around panels that are regularly removed for maintenance. I also like the design and colour schemes of 50’s Sabre jets. Though Silver Jet doesn’t look anything like a Sabre, the Sabre was a definite influence in the overall design.

This was an early render — I hadn’t settled on a canopy design yet.
I quite like the idea of this plane with paint and markings. I’ll explore it further at some point.
